We have a date for publication of Est – Friday 20 March. On the day we will be launching it in Wivenhoe, Essex, at the book shop, from 6.30pm. It’s a ticketed event and the book shop is small so if you fancy coming along then contact the book shop directly – they are running the evening. On the night there will be an introduction to the collection from us, a small number of readings from some of our contributing poets Tim Cunningham, Rosie Sandler and Peter Kennedy, a ‘DJ set’ of ‘field music’ from another of our contributors, Mark Deal (think bird song, breeze, squeaking gates…) and a discussion session at the end with contributors Martin Newell and Dr Adrian May.
Details are at wivenhoebooks.com
There’s also a complementary event the following Wednesday at The Waiting Room in Colchester, where Dunlin Press will be the ‘artists in residence’ at the regular Maker Wednesdays evening. Rather than readings etc, this will take the form of a letter press printing session, with quotes from the collection being printed using an old Adana letter press. It’s an opportunity for everyone to get their hands inky.
